Gratitude to Kitty
How few bird songs I know!
The other day I turned to quiet Kitty,
a painter of portraits without faces.
“You can hear the winter wren
near the center of the island,” she said.
“And the barred owl near Soldier’s Garden Trail.”
I want to follow her, be her Disciple,
listen as she listens. There! And again!
