Inspirational poem of the day

Gratitude to Kitty

How few bird songs I know!

The other day I turned to quiet Kitty,

a painter of portraits without faces.

ā€œYou can hear the winter wren

near the center of the island,ā€ she said.

ā€œAnd the barred owl near Soldier’s Garden Trail.ā€

I want to follow her, be her Disciple,

listen as she listens. There! And again!

– from A Cartload of Scrolls: 100 Poems in the Manner of T’ang Dynasty Poet Han-Shan by James P. Lenfestey

What it’s like to struggle with my mind

The labyrinth of my mind all lead to dead ends

The maze seems to only grow

I can’t seem to get anywhere

And I’m tired of running through

Nothing I find

Nothing to seek

I sit there, pondering

If only a helping Hand could pull me through

If only I could be rescued

Maybe then I’d be given a clue
